Lifemate Nigeria Limited a leader in manufacturing and marketing of furniture products welcomed Yeshua high school students in Lagos to their Furniture factory in Mowe, Ogun State, Nigeria on Friday the 17th of May, 2019.
The excursion which was organized by the producers of Acadatainment Production & Educational entertainment Firm was part of the school’s educational curriculum and also acquisition of vocational skills in order to tackle unemployment after gaining required educational degree.
The tour took off from the company’s factory at Mowe where all products are manufactured and the students were taught the basic knowledge of the different manufacturing processes and procedures of the Furniture products from start to finish. They were taken round the factory by the company’s P.R.O Ejiemhen Orebayo, to see the 5 categories of the production section (Sofa session, outdoor session, Mattress session, solid wood and Kitchen Cabinet session) and their processes including the different machines used for production as the managers of each sections explained the different stages of the manufacturing process in details to the students.
To cap the good experience acquired, the students were addressed by Guo Hongyue, Director of Production who patiently attended to all the questions raised by the students and assured them that there is vacancy for any student who choose carpentry as vocational study. He also stated that, “There are a lot of opportunities in manufacturing that require skilled tradespeople in furniture production. These students are our future workforce. We need to introduce them to the world of skilled manufacturing and show them what employment opportunities are available in Nigeria”. He also added that not just white collar jobs can get them to their dream land, but being an Artisan too can. Therefore, instead of depending on their degree, they should look inward, learn handcraft while the degree should help them polish the skill acquired so as to become hirer of labor which is one huge solution to one of those problems our government is trying so hard to tackle.
Afterwards, they headed to the head office showroom at Plot 1, Ikosi Road, Oregun Ikeja, Lagos and were taken round the showroom to view the finished products that originated from the factory for different uses by the customers. The showroom is where customers make purchase and take delivery of the furniture products to their homes. During the tour, they were also told that the company have other branches, in total thirteen branches nationwide where customers can also make purchase. They were meant to understand that they don’t only sell furniture products but they also offer after sales services to their customers who purchased furniture products and the company mission is to serve their customer better with unique furniture products and great after sales services.
The organizer of the excursion Mr Dopamu Olaniyi in his remarks said the students have identified the furniture outfit, Lifemate Nigeria Limited as a role model in the area of carpentry and he strongly believe that the experience will continue to go a long way in shaping the future of the students.
